India has many cities famous for their culture, tradition, geography and history. One of them is Jaipur. Let’s learn about Jaipur! Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan. It is also the largest city in Rajasthan.
- Jaipur is a very popular tourist city, which is also famously known as the ‘Pink City of India.
- The pink city got its name from the Rajput king Jai Singh II. He founded Jaipur in the year 1727.
- Delhi, Jaipur and Agra are part of the ‘Golden Triangle. This is the most popular tourist route in India. It is called a ‘triangle’ because they form a triangular shape on the map.
- The city is also known as the “Paris of India” because it has many beautiful forts and palaces like the famous Hawa Mahal, etc.
- In July 2019, UNESCO included Jaipur in its list of World Heritage sites.
