India wins its first match in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup

ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup began on 4th March 2022 in New Zealand. Team India played their first match against Pakistan.

Match 1: India vs Pakistan

Team India beat Pakistan by 107 runs. It has been a great start for Team India in the ICC Cricket World Cup.

After winning the toss, opener Smriti Mandhana, Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar made half-centuries to turn the score to 244 runs in 7 wickets.

The target for Pakistan was 245 runs, but the team was all out for 137 in 43 overs. This became the 11th game that Pakistan lost against India in the 50-over format.

Stars of the match

Rajeshwari Gayakwad scored 31/4 in 10 overs. Jhulan Goswami and Sneha Rana took 2 wickets each. Moreover, Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar shared a 122 run partnership. it is the highest for 7th wicket in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. This partnership helped India to boost its total score of 244 runs.

  • India vs New Zealand: 10th March 2022
  • India vs West Indies: 12th March 2022
  • India vs England: 16th March 2022
  • India vs Australia: 19th March 2022
  • India vs Bangladesh: 22nd March 2022
  • India vs South Africa: 27th March 2022
