World Humanitarian Day is an international day celebrated every year since 2009.
It is meant to honour people who work for humanitarian causes and those who have died while doing so. It is also remembered to help people around the world who are affected by crises.
People have said, and it’s true, that it takes a village to raise a child. In the same way, it takes a group of people to care for and help a person during a humanitarian disaster.
The 2022 World Health Day (WHD) campaign shines a light on the thousands of volunteers and people whose lives have been directly affected by crises.

- This is very important because the number of people who need help around the world is at an all-time high.

- There is also a global network that helps these people get back on their feet.
- The volunteers work together out of the public eye and away from the news to help people feel better and give hope to those who have lost it.
- They provide emergency medical care, shelter, food, protection, water, and much more.
- These aid workers serve as a symbol for the larger humanitarian community as a whole.
