What is the world record for the heaviest pumpkin? Let’s find out today.

Stefano Cutrupi, a farmer from Italy has broken the world record for the heaviest pumpkin ever. This pumpkin weighs 1,226 kg. That’s heavier than a car, or as heavy as about 17 adult men!

Stefano lives in Tuscany, Italy and he has been growing giant pumpkins since 2008. He presented his world record pumpkin at the Campionato della Zuccone pumpkin festival on 26 September 2021.

This festival has a pumpkin contest where people enter the pumpkins they have grown and judges decide which is the best and heaviest.

The pumpkin is a type of pumpkin called Atlantic giant. Stefano started growing the plant in March this year. However, till the day of the contest, Stefano wasn’t sure how heavy it would be. So, when the results came out, it was an exciting surprise and he was very happy. Guinness World Records has also confirmed the record.

Is there a world record that you also want to break someday? Share with us on My Expressions at Curious Times.
