The second-most viewed website in the world, YouTube was launched on a 14 February day in 2005.
 
  • It was founded by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim.
  • The first video “Me at the Zoo” was uploaded on 23 April 2005. This video was uploaded by Jawed Karim.
  • Google acquired (bought) YouTube in 2006.

  • It was originally designed to be a dating site.
  •  It is estimated that one would take 57,000 years to watch each and every video on YouTube (only if, that’s all that you do).
  • There are 98 different versions of Youtube.
  • People all over the world watch over 1 billion hours of videos a day on this platform. This is more than Netflix and Facebook videos combined.
  • The most-watched video on it currently is the children’s song Baby Shark.
