Save Earth

Anita and Param walk by the lake next to their house. The lake is dirty and smells bad. Suddenly, they heard someone cry. They look around and see a crying woman. Param and Anita go to the woman and ask her what’s wrong.

She says her house is being destroyed, so the kids say, “We can call the police for you!” However, the woman, says that the police will not be able to help me.

She said that her name is Gaia, the spirit of mother nature and that her home is the earth. Humans destroy their homes by creating pollution and waste. Trees are cut, animals are killed and the environment is polluted. You see, she said, the lake next to your house is so dirty! Before many fish, frogs and ducks lived here, but now it is a bin for the community.

Param and Anita are in shock. They learned about this problem at school and have now realized the urgency of the matter. They promised Gaia that they would do their best to save the earth.

Climate Action

They immediately started working to clean up the neighborhood lake first with their neighbors, then they went to their school and held an Earth Day celebration on April 22 with the help of their teachers planting trees and have organized a special assembly so that their friends can become aware too. They also brought recycling bins to their neighborhood.

When they revisited the lake, they saw a happy and smiling Gaia. She says their efforts are appreciated and they have done a great job.
