Schools are facing challenges post-pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the world adversely. All the public and private sectors are affected by the virus and schools are no exception.
Be it a public school or private school, the pandemic has adversely affected the education system all over the world. The schools’ closure has affected both the teachers and students. Many schools moved online but not all children have had access to smartphones and internet connections.
Now that schools have reopened, the teachers have found learning loss amidst the children. One reason for the learning loss is the online platform for school classes. The children aren’t able to interact easily with each other and this is affecting them in a certain way.
The teachers are trying their best to bridge the gap that the education system has faced, post the pandemic. To help the children and students, UNESCO has introduced an International Commission on Futures of India. They have given 9 ideas to improve the education system post the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ideas to improve the education system
UNESCO has put forward some ideas to help the schools to redevelop the education system. Firstly, the definition of the Right to Education should be expanded. It should be equal for children. A hearty relationship should be instilled between the teachers and students.
Being a teacher is a big responsibility, therefore, the teachers should be allowed to collaborate their work with one another. Adding to it. open-source technologies should be provided to the teachers and students. The schools should be equipped with efficient digital tools.
The curriculum should be re-defined and re-imagined and all kinds of information from all over the world should be included in the curriculum. Also, all education and development partners should strengthen public health and social services.
COVID-19 has affected the students, teachers, institutions and parents across the globe and all these are the ideas that could help us in re-defining the education system and get it in the prior position.
