Indian origin Rishi Sunak to lead the United Kingdom as PM!

On October 28, Rishi Sunak will take the oath of office as Prime Minister of the UK. Sunak is the youngest person who has ever run the United Kingdom as Prime Minister.
Rishi will be the first prime minister of British Asian heritage. He is also the youngest person to hold the job in more than 200 years. He takes over for Liz Truss, who quit her job after only 45 days last week.
The Conservative Party has chosen Rishi Sunak to be its new leader. Penny Mordaunt, who was running against Mr Sunak, dropped out of the race just minutes before he was named the winner.
Mr Sunak is the fourth prime minister to be chosen without a general election in the last four years.

- Rishi Sunak, who won the election, has called for national unity in response to an “economic crisis”.
- Mr Sunak said that getting his party and the UK to work together will be his “most important goal.”
- Sunak will meet the monarch for the first time. The monarch will ask Sunak to form a government and give him the chance to do so.
- Sunak thanked outgoing Prime Minister Liz Truss for leading the country through “exceptionally hard times”.
- As Chancellor, Mr Sunak was in charge of making sure that the economy of the United Kingdom didn’t get too bad during the Covid-19 pandemic.
- But in July, when the government was facing a lot of scandals, he quit as chancellor.
- This gave fuel to a rebellion in the cabinet, which led Mr Johnson to step down as prime minister.
- Sunak will be the fourth prime minister in a row to take office without there being a general election.
- Since the UK’s political system is based on parliamentary representation, he doesn’t have to call for early elections.
