165 km trek to photograph a snow leopard!
Recommended for Preparatory Grades
A wildlife photographer trekked for nearly 165-kilometre to catch a glimpse of a snow leopard. And get some amazing photos of it in the wilderness.
Kittiya Pawlowski went hiking in Nepal on a variety of rough terrains to try to find the rare snow leopard. She said that the photo shoot was both one of the hardest and one of the best things she had ever done.
The snow leopard lives in the mountains of South and Central Asia. It is one of the most difficult animals to photograph. Because they are really good at hiding and fitting in with their surroundings.
They are also referred to as “Ghosts of the Mountains” because they are difficult to spot.
The snow leopard is considered to be in a vulnerable state since it is predicted that there are fewer than 10,000 adults in the world population. As per expert reports, it is anticipated that the population would decrease by approximately 10% by the year 2040.
