A winter storm is heading east through the United States, and millions of people are under weather warnings.

The storm has been responsible for the formation of tornadoes in southern regions and has dusted snow across other states.

Conditions resembling a blizzard resulted in the closure of roads and schools, and some places reported receiving 4 feet of snow.

  • As per new reports, there have been over three thousand flight delays, and an additional hundred flights have been cancelled.
  • Weather experts have issued blizzard warnings for around half a million people.
  • Strong winds and heavy precipitation are making it difficult to travel.
  • At least eighteen tornadoes touched down across several states, causing injuries to inhabitants and destroying homes and other buildings.
  • Additional incidents were recorded prompting state authorities to declare a state of emergency.
  • As the storm advances east over the next few days, there is a good chance that the majority of the United States will feel some impact from it.
  • The extreme weather has resulted in the cancellation or delay of hundreds of flights.
  • The storm has also made its way into Canada.
  • In Canada, it is expected to bring heavy snowfall and strong winds.
  • According to the Weather Service, areas of the upper Midwest and the north-eastern United States are expected to experience freezing rain.
