The BCCI has announced the owners of the Women’s Indian Premier League teams. Three Indian Premier League clubs are the proprietors of the five new teams.

These teams will compete in the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

The Women’s Premier Competition (WPC) is the official name that the BCCI has given to the Women’s Premier League.

• Adani Sportsline will own the Ahmedabad team.
• In addition, the owners of the IPL team Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Delhi Capitals each submitted winning offers to enter the WPL.
• Capri Global Holdings (loans company) acquired the Lucknow franchise.
• According to sports analysts, this event heralds the start of a revolution in women’s cricket.
• As it lays the way for a journey that will be transformative for our women cricketers.
• In addition, it also sends a positive message to the entire sports community.

• The inaugural season will consist of a total of 22 games.
• The team that finishes in first place in the league stage qualifies for the championship without having to play any additional games.
