Richa and Jemimah help India beat Pakistan by seven wickets in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. India’s first match against Pakistan was started by Harleen Deol.

What is ICC Women's T20 World Cup?

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is the international championship for Twenty20 International cricket for women. It is held every two years.

Jemimah got 53 runs without getting out by hitting 38 balls, and Richa got 31 runs without getting out by hitting 20 balls. They put together 58 runs while the fourth wicket was still standing.

This helped India reach its difficult goal of 150 runs with six balls to spare.

  • During their respective unbroken knocks, Jemimah and Richa smashed a total of eight boundaries and five fours, respectively.
  • This helped India reach 151 for 3 in 19 overs and achieve their biggest successful chase in the T20 World Cup.
  • Shafali Verma scored 33 runs off 25 balls, and Yastika Bhatia scored 17.
  • This got the Indian run chase off to a solid start by piecing together 38 runs in 5.3 overs.
  • The powerplay overs produced a total of 43 runs while only losing one wicket.
  • India was bowled out for 93 runs in 13.3 overs.
  • Despite losing key wickets, India remained in the game because of their strong start and deep batting lineup.
  • After making the decision to bat first, Pakistan reached their highest-ever total in the Twenty20 World Cup with a score of 149 for 4.
  • In the eighth over, Pakistan’s score was reduced to 43 for 3.
  • But they produced a remarkable comeback and scored 91 runs in the second half of their innings.
  • Pakistan’s captain Bismah Maroof (68 not out) and Ayesha Naseem (43 not out) stitched together 81 runs for the unconquered fifth wicket.
