Formula 1 (F1) world champion Lewis Hamilton has been voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2020.

Hamilton is considered to be one of F1’s all-time great drivers. This year, he equalled F1 legend Michael Schumacher’s record of seven world titles. He also set a record by posting 92 grand prix (F1 races) wins.

This is the second time Lewis Hamilton is winning the award. He first won it in 2014.

The BBC Sports Personality of the Year award is decided by a public vote. In the voting, Liverpool captain and English football player Jordan Henderson finished second while jockey Hollie Doyle was third.
