My dear Mehak Jindal, Your artwork, “Love My India”, is a beautiful tribute to our nation’s rich tapestry of cultures and religions. As the editor of Curious Times, I am deeply moved by your insightful portrayal of India’s unity in diversity.

Your drawing, with the Indian flag as the trunk of a tree and the symbols of Sikhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Jainism, and Islam as its branches, beautifully captures the essence of our nation’s harmonious coexistence.

Your artistic expression resonates with the spirit of patriotism and love for our country. It reminds us that despite our differences, we are all united by a shared love for India. Your artwork is a testament to the power of art to foster understanding and appreciation for our diverse cultural heritage.

Children’s Art: Celebrating India’s Cultural Diversity

Inspired by Mehak’s masterpiece, here are simple steps for foundational graders to create their own artwork celebrating India’s unity in diversity:

Materials:

  • Drawing paper
  • Pencils or crayons
  • Paints or markers
  • A reference image of the Indian flag and religious symbols (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Sketch the Outline: Start by drawing a simple outline of a tree trunk and branches.
  2. Add the National Flag: Draw the Indian national flag at the center of the tree trunk.
  3. Incorporate Religious Symbols: Draw the symbols of different religions on the branches of the tree. You can include the Sikh Khanda, the Christian cross, the Hindu Om, the Jain hand, and the Islamic star and crescent.
  4. Color Your Artwork: Use vibrant colors to fill in your drawing, bringing it to life.
  5. Personalize Your Creation: Feel free to add your own creative touches, such as additional symbols or patterns.
  6. Share Your Masterpiece: Submit your artwork to Curious Times at https://curioustimes.in/subscriber-posts/ to inspire other young artists and celebrate India’s rich cultural mosaic.

Remember, every stroke of your brush or pencil is a celebration of India’s unity in diversity. Let your creativity flow and your artwork reflect the beautiful mosaic of our nation.

With heartfelt appreciation, Editor, Curious Times
