Education budget to implement NEP 2020

The New Education Policy(NEP 2020) outlines the vision of India’s education system. The Education policy is based on four pillars which are Access, Equity, Quality and Accountability.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Education budget for 2022 will help in implementing New Education Policy(NEP). The budget focuses on five key objectives of the National Education Policy.

Objectives of National Education Policy

  1. Universalisation of quality education
  2. Introduction of digital universities
  3. Skill development
  4. Providing digital or e-content

According to the government, digital connectivity has kept our education system on track. It has been a difficult phase for everyone during the pandemic. But due to the internet, the students could take up their classes and appear for exams as well.

Structure of the NEP 2020

The new education policy consists of a structure of 5+3+3+4 which includes 12 years of school and 3 years of Pre-school. Through the National Education Policy 2020, the government is looking forward to making India a global knowledge superpower. It can be done by making the education system for schools and colleges more flexible.

School structure according to NEP 2020

The schools will follow the 5+3+3+4 structure.

  1. 5 years Fundamental(Classes Nursery to 2nd)
  2. 3 years Preparatory(Classes 3 to 5)

The schools and other educational institutes will implement the structure as per the NEP 2020.

  1. Rules will be same for all the education institutions including all the private and government schools and colleges.
  2. For students upto class 5th, the curriculum will be taught in mother tongue or local langauge. English will be taught as a subject.
  3. The board exams will be conducted only in the 12th class.

  7. Educational schemes have also been included in the Education budget and it will help in improving the education sector.

Government initiatives to NEP 2020

The Education department is working to develop content in sign languages for specially-abled students. The curriculum content will be launched in regional languages. It means that the students can study even in their mother tongue.

For the people who want to learn new skills or who want to update themselves, they can take help from the DESH e-portal. These are the government initiatives for the education sector.

The Education Ministry of India has elaborated the above pointers to help the teachers and students. As the schools reopen post-pandemic, we hope to see developments in the education sector.
