Forbes’ list of Asia’s Heroes of Philanthropy includes three Indian billionaires. These include Gautam Adani, Shiv Nadar, and Ashok Soota.
Gautam Adani has more money than anyone else in India. In June, he turned 60, and to mark the occasion, he gave away 60,000 crores.
Forbes Asia’s Heroes of Philanthropy list honoured Indian billionaires in its sixteenth edition.
Forbes says that the people on the list are the top philanthropists in the Asia-Pacific region who have shown a strong personal commitment to helping others.

Gautam Adani
- Adani turned 60, and to celebrate, he gave a donation of about $7.7 billion, or 60,000 crores.
- It has been said that because of his gift, he is one of India’s most generous donors.
- The donation will go to the Adani Family Foundation.
- The Foundation will use the money to help with things like health care, education, and getting ahead in your career.
- About 3.7 million people in India get help from this group every year.
Shiv Nadar
- Shiv Nadar is a self-made businessman and philanthropist.
- He has given away nearly a billion dollars to various charitable organisations over the period of a few decades via the Shiv Nadar Foundation.
- In 2022 he donated more than eleven thousand crores.
- For him, the key to creating a meritocratic and fair society was ensuring that all people had access to quality education.
Ashok Soota
- Ashok Soota formed a medical research trust with the goal of studying neurological illnesses and the consequences of ageing.
- Soota has pledged nearly 600 crores.
- He thinks that people who work on making new drugs and people who do research in national and state institutions often invest in medical research.
- With the money, a lab for collaborative research was set up, a professorship was sponsored, and three faculty fellowships were paid for.
