Raj Subramaniam, an Indian American who lives in the United States, is set to become the new CEO of FedEx. Raj will be the new CEO of the company, replacing the current one, Frederick W Smith. He will try to consolidate and expand the business of the company, which is based in the United States.
It has been about one to two decades since Indian Americans have made their mark in Silicon Valley and now run a lot of big businesses. They go from Arvind Krishna to Satya Nadella, and the list keeps going. It’s Raj Subramaniam’s turn to join the group of CEOs who are the best in the world.

Raj Subramaniam joined FedEx in 1991. Before becoming CEO of FedEx Corp, Subramaniam was President and Chief Operating Officer of FedEx Corp, and then he was made CEO. Besides that, he has also been President and CEO of FedEx Express, which is the world’s largest express transportation company.
Raj was born in Trivandrum and went to IIT Bombay to study chemical engineering in 1987. Later, he got a master’s degree from Syracuse University in 1989. This isn’t the only degree he has. He also has an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Texas.
In his new job as President and CEO-elect of FedEx Corporation, Subramaniam will be in charge of all of the company’s other businesses. These include FedEx Ground, FedEx Freight, FedEx Services, and FedEx Office.
Subramaniam has worked for FedEx for more than 30 years.

- Sundar Pichai, Alphabet – An IIT Kharagpur grad, he became CEO of Google in 2015, and in December 2019, he became CEO of Alphabet Inc., which owns Google.
- Satya Nadella, Microsoft – He was added to the list of powerful Indian-born CEOs when he took over as CEO and Chairman of Microsoft in 2014.
- Parag Agrawal, Twitter – In 2021, Parag Agrawal became the CEO of Twitter after its founder, Jack Dorsey, stepped down from the job.
- Leena Nair, Chanel – Leena Nair is one of the most recent Indian-born CEOs to make her mark. She became the first woman and youngest CEO of Chanel.
- Shantanu Narayen, Adobe Inc – He worked for the company for a long time before being named CEO in December 2007.
