A farm in the U.K. grows furniture from living treesWe have read about the citizens of Mumbai protesting against cutting down trees in Aarey colony. De-forestation (cutting down forests) affects our environment very badly.

However, today lets read about how a couple in England use trees in a unique way to save the environment.

Gavin and Alice Munro own a special furniture farm in England called Full Grown. At this farm, they don't cut down trees to make furniture, they grow trees into furniture!

Their aim is to stop the cutting of mature trees to create furniture.
 	They grow trees that are grown to form the shape of furniture, including chairs, without stopping the trees from growing.
 	Gavin and Alice started experimenting with this idea in 2006 and started properly by 2012.
 	At the moment, they are taking care of 250 chairs, 100 lamps and 50 tables on their farm.

Interestingly, the average chair takes six to nine years to grow and one more year to dry up. Also, a complete dining room set takes about 10 years to grow!

Given the amount of time it takes to grow them, the furniture is quite costly. For example, a chair costs 10,000 pounds (US$ 12,480).
