Air Pollution worries Delhi-NCR

Recommended for Preparatory Grades

An update on air pollution in National Capital Region (NCR)

We earlier read about Government shutting down schools, colleges, construction sites in the Delhi-NCR regions. Air pollution in National Capital Region (NCR) continues to deteriorate.

Here are the steps, which the Government is taking to combat air pollution

  1. The government has ordered all schools and colleges to be closed. However, teaching will continue using online methods and board exams will also continue.
  2. All industries that are not using natural gas and clean fuels will operate only for 8 hours on weekdays only.
  3. There is a ban on using diesel generators, except in case of emergency.

The Commission of Air Quality Management (CAQM) has formed flying squads. The squads will cover important areas in the Delhi-NCR to track and take strict action against those not following the rules.
