Amazing Animals – Ocean sunfishWhat is the biggest fish you have ever seen? Well, today, we will read about one of the biggest and heaviest bony fishes in the world - the ocean sunfish.

The ocean sunfish is a weird-looking fish - it looks like a large 'blob' which seems to have only half a body.

What do we know about this fish?

The ocean sunfish is officially called Mola mola.
 	It looks like a fish head with a tail, and its main body is flattened sideways. It is silvery-grey or white in colour.
 	Mola mola can be as tall as they are long - they grow up to 10 feet in height and weigh between 247 and 1,000 kg.
 	They eat jellyfishes, small fishes, fish larvae, squid, and more.
 	Female ocean sunfishes can produce up to 300,000,000 eggs at a time!

Where can you find this huge fish?

You can find the ocean sunfish around the world in the Pacific and Atlantic ocean. It can live up to 10 years.
 	Unfortunately, it is vulnerable to threats like getting stuck in fishing nets or mistakenly eating plastic bags, which resemble jellyfish.
