Amazon enters space station business
The company Amazon has joined the Orbital Reef commercial space station project. The company joined the project to provide supply-chain logistics and Amazon web services.
The Orbital Reef project is led by Blue Origin and Sierra Space in partnership with Boeing, Redwire Space, and Genesis Engineering.
Amazon’s role in the new space station project
The announcement of Amazon being part of the Orbital Reef space station project was announced at the 37th National Space Symposium. Amazon’s role includes overseeing logistics using its Distribution and Fulfillment Solutions.
Amazon Web Series will offer networking, cloud computing and communications solutions for the station’s fight operations, development and design teams.
Amazon will help in developing reliable infrastructure and ensure that humans have the resources to experiment with habitation in the lower orbit of Earth.
Uses of the orbital reef space station
It is used to develop a private space station that can be used for a wide variety of commercial applications.
