Argentina wins the 2022 FIFA World Cup!

Argentina wins the World Cup by defeating France 4-2. Argentina win their third FIFA World Cup on penalties following a tense match that went to extra time. In a penalty shootout following a 3-3 tie the winning goals were scored by Messi and Kylian Mbappé.

Both Mbappé and Messi scored on the first penalties taken by their respective sides.

Gonzalo Montiel was able to seal the deal for Argentina. Argentina’s goalkeeper Emi Martinez stopped a shot from Kingsley Coman. Thereafter Aurelien Tchouameni missed a chance for France.

Argentina and Lionel Messi were able to accomplish their dream of hoisting the prized World Cup Trophy.
