Argentinian football team reopens new stadium with hologram lionThis week, Argentinian football club, Estudiantes de La Plata, marked the reopening of their rebuilt stadium with a spectacular display - a hologram of a huge lion!

The 100-foot tall lion leapt out of the sky, strutted along the roof, and jumped down on the pitch and roared at fans.
 	Fans at home could watch it on TV while fans in the stadium could see it on the big screen or through an app on their phone.
 	The stadium, named Jorge Luis Hirshi Stadium, had been closed since 2006 for renovations.
 	The hologram lion, as well as a friendly match, marked the reopening of the stadium.

Use of holograms is becoming increasingly popular at events. A while ago we read about a circus made up of hologram animals.

Estudiantes de La Plata, is an Argentine professional sports club based in La Plata, Argentina. Apart from football, it also has teams that compete in basketball, team handball, field hockey, golf, swimming, judo, and volleyball.
