Arunima Sinha – First Woman Amputee to climb Mt. VinsonArunima Sinha is a former National Volley Ball player. In 2011, while she was traveling by train, some robbers tried to rob and snatch her gold chain. During the process of fighting and resisting, she was pushed out off the train. She got hit by another train and suffered serious injuries.

She had to go through amputation of her left leg.
 	She, then, started a new journey, of scaling heights. She did a course in Mountaineering from Nehru Institute of Mountaineers. She also got trained under Bachendri Paul, the first Indian woman to climb Everest.
 	In 2013, she became the first Indian amputee to scale Mount Everest. There was no looking back and she went ahead to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa), Mt. Elbrus (Europe), Kosciuszko (Australia), Aconcagua (Argentia), Puncak Jaya (Indonesia).
 	On 4th January 2019, she became the first amputee to climb Mt. Vinson (Antarctica).
 	She has received plenty of awards for her accomplishments, which include Padma Shri and Tenzing Norgay, Highest Mountaineering Award. She has received several cash awards and she has been dedicating much of her cash prizes towards
