Astronaut Christina Koch lands back on Earth after record-breaking space stayNASA astronaut Christina Koch returned to Earth early Thursday, along with European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Luca Parmitano and Russian cosmonaut Alexander Skvortsov.

This was her first trip to the International Space Station (ISS) and the longest by a woman. She stayed on the ISS for 328 days.
 	Koch was also a part of the first all-female spacewalk with fellow NASA astronaut Jessica Meir.
 	During her mission, Koch completed six spacewalks and spent 42 hours and 15 minutes outside of the station.

During her stay at the ISS, Koch devoted much of her time to a variety of experiments and investigations.

The ISS acts as an orbiting laboratory that can be used to test how different aspects of everyday human life on Earth react to the lack of gravity.
 	On the station, astronauts experience a variety of science activities. Sometimes, they're the test subject, contributing to studies about human health in space. Other times, they're working with scientists on Earth to test their experiments.

Koch says she is now looking forward to the things she missed about Earth, like the sensation of running water, food, sweet smells and the sounds of nature.

However, she says she had the most restful sleep in space, as she would just float in her body's natural position.
