Barcelona win historic UEFA Women’s Champions League title

On Sunday, Spanish football club Barcelona won the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time in their history. They won the final against English club Chelsea with a score of 0-4. Barcelona’s win this year breaks the dominance of Lyon.
French club Lyon had won the UEFA Women’s Champions League every year, from 2016 to 2020. The goal scorers were Melanie Leupolz (own goal), Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmati and Caroline Graham Hansen.
The final was played in Gothenburg, Sweden. With this win, Barcelona have become the first club to win both the men’s and women’s Champions League. Barcelona are also the most successful women’s football team in Spain.
