National Film Awards were given out at the National Media Centre in New Delhi. The 68th National Film Awards were given out in honour of movies that came out in 2020. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Directorate of Film Festivals was in charge of putting the event together.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, (Ministry of I&B), is a government agency in charge of making and enforcing rules in the areas of information, television, the press, and the Cinema of India.

Soorarai Pottru, a Tamil movie, won the award for best full-length film. The award for best actor was given to both Suriya and Ajay Devgn. Aparna Balamurali won the award for best actress for her role in the movie Soorarai Pottru.
