Double Victory for Pramod in Para Badminton!
Recommended for Preparatory Grades
Guess what, my curious friend! Something incredible happened at the Thailand Para badminton international! Pramod Bhagat, a talented player from India, won not just one, but two gold medals!
That’s right, a double crown for Pramod! Isn’t that amazing?
Pramod’s Triumphs: Lucky Break and Gold!
- Pramod encountered a formidable adversary named Daniel Bethell from England in the singles final. They played an intense match, and Pramod emerged victorious with a score of 21-18. But here’s the funny part—Daniel had to retire from the game, so Pramod won by default! Talk about a lucky break!
- But Pramod didn’t stop there. He teamed up with another talented player, Sukant Kadam, for the doubles final. Their opponents, Nitesh Kumar and Tarun, put up a great fight, but Pramod and Sukant showed them who’s boss! With their incredible skills and teamwork, they won the gold medal with a thrilling score of 18-21, 21-14, 21-19. Way to go, Pramod and Sukant!
- Now, let’s talk about Sukant. He didn’t just settle for one medal; he brought home a gold and a silver! In the SL4 category final, Sukant faced none other than his fellow Indian player, Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj. It was a nail-biting match that lasted for a whopping 53 minutes! In the end, Suhas emerged as the winner, but Sukant showed great sportsmanship and fought hard till the very end.
- When asked about their performances, Pramod expressed his happiness, saying, “I am happy with my performance in the tournament. I was playing well and was implementing everything I had trained and planned.” Pramod even shared some kind words for his opponent, Daniel, and wished him a speedy recovery.
- Sukant, too, was pleased with his performance, although he had hoped to win gold in the singles category as well. He knows where he can improve and is determined to work on it. That’s the spirit, Sukant!
- Let’s not forget the other Indian players who also won medals. Thulasimathi Murugesan won a silver medal in the SU5 category, while Kumar Nitesh and Tarun bagged a silver medal in the doubles event. Nithya Sre showcased her talent and earned a well-deserved silver medal in the SH6 category.
- What an extraordinary achievement by these talented para badminton players from India! They have made their country proud, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll accomplish next. Keep shining, superstars!
