DRDO builds multi-storey building in 45 days
Recommended for Middle Grades
Hey there! Guess what? The clever folks at the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) have built a super cool multi-storey building for aeronautical development. It’s like a big playground for airplanes!
This fancy building is all about flight control systems. You know, the things that make airplanes go zoom in the sky. The boss man, Rajnath Singh, just finished putting together the 7-storey building. That’s like having seven floors stacked on top of each other. Pretty tall, huh?

- Now, let’s talk about the purpose of this awesome building. It cost around 15,000 crore, which is a whole lot of money. They started building it on November 22nd, 2021. That’s when they put down the first stone, like a very important puzzle piece.
- The building is ginormous, covering an area of 1.3 lakh square feet. That’s like having more than 18,000 big trampolines lined up next to each other! And get this, they built it super fast, in just 45 days. That’s less time than it takes for you to finish your summer vacation homework!
- Now, why did they build this mega-building? Well, it’s a special place for researching and developing fifth-generation fighter jets. Can you imagine how fast and powerful those jets must be? It’s like having super-speedy rockets with wings!
- Inside the building, they have all kinds of cool stuff. They’re going to create avionics for fighter aircraft. Avionics are like the brains of the plane. They help the pilots control everything and make sure the planes fly smoothly.
- They’re also working on something called the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) project. It’s like a secret mission to build the best fighter jets ever! And this new building will have the flight control system for those amazing jets.
- So, in this new building, the brilliant minds at DRDO will be working hard to make airplanes fly better and fight like superheroes. It’s like a giant laboratory where they mix science and fun!
- Who knows what amazing things they’ll discover and create in that building? Maybe they’ll invent planes that can do somersaults or fly underwater. The sky’s the limit, and these smart scientists are reaching for the stars!
- So, next time you see an airplane in the sky, remember that there are people in this incredible multi-storey building making it all possible. Keep dreaming big, little aviator, and who knows, maybe one day you’ll be building your own awesome flying machines too!
