England sets highest run rate record in ICC Super League

ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League inaugural ODI series between England and the Netherlands resulted in England breaking the record for the highest run rate ever posted in an ODI series.
During the one-day international series that England played against the Netherlands, they had a run rate of 8.46 and scored a total of 985 runs. Jos Buttler, a batter for England hit as many as 14 sixes and seven boundaries to a score of 162 off of 70 deliveries in one of the ODI matches.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the organisation that oversees cricket on a global scale.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is running its inaugural season. The men’s competition is known as the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League 2020–23. The league is part of the qualification process for the Cricket World Cup in 2023.
The league is comprised of thirteen teams: the twelve Full Members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), as well as the Netherlands. Each of the teams will compete in a One-Day International (ODI) series against eight of the other twelve teams, alternating between four home series and four away series. There are three One-Day Internationals in each series.

- These games were a part of the inaugural ICC Cricket World Cup Super League 2020–2023.
- In their first ODI England posted the highest innings total ever recorded in an ODI match, with a score of 498/4 in 50 overs.
- England knocked the Netherlands out for 266 runs, resulting in a victory for England by 232 runs.
- The second One-Day International (ODI) was played on a damp outfield, which resulted in the match being shortened to 41 overs for each side. England won the match by a score of six wickets.
- This allowed them to clinch the series with one game remaining.
- The third ODI was won by England by 8 wickets.
