Flying cars to be a reality soon!

Flying cars to be a reality soon!There is a big hustle among companies to introduce small, self-flying vehicles capable of vertical (upwards) takeoff and landing. The newer technologies are being built to solve the problem of increasing road traffic.

On 22nd January, Boeing, an American company, that designs, manufactures, and sells airplanes, rockets, satellites, successfully tested its flying car in USA.  The 30-feet-long (9 meter) aircraft, which is a little bit of helicopter, a little bit of drone and a little like fixed-wing plane, went a few feet above the ground and made a soft landing after less than a minute of being in the air.

The next test would be to fly forward.

There are many such companies, who are building similar technologies. Here are some challenges to think through:

Safety standards and rules and regulations are still to be laid out for flying cars
 	On one hand, we have less availability and increasing fuel prices and increasing pollution problems, a newer technology like this could require higher fuels to save time from traffic.
 	In a few years we may need to get a pilot license rather than a driver’s license to use a flying car.

And yes, we may need a Air Traffic Police, as there would be traffic jam in the sky as well!
