The famous search engine Google celebrates its 21st birthday today, 27 September.

Google has celebrated its birthday with a doodle which shows a desktop computer with a Google search screen. The doodle also has a date written on it - 98-9- 27 (year - month - day).

Google was founded by two computer science students, Sergey Brin and Larry Page in 1998.
 	They started it as a project to create a search engine portal called Backrub.
 	Google now has a parent company called Alphabet Inc.
 	The name 'Google' was chosen because it resembles the name 'googol' which is a mathematical term for a number that starts with 1 followed by a 100 zeros.
 	Currently, Google operates all over the world. Over the years, it has introduced many products such as Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs and search engine Google Chrome.
 	Apart from that, Google also acquired YouTube. It has also introduced smartphones, mobile and computer hardware, smart speaker Google Home and self-driving cars.

Looking back though, Google seems to have celebrated its birthday on different dates of September, but no one knows the reason why!
