Many women in Himachal Pradesh are making a living off of pine needles. “Improvement of Himachal Pradesh Forest Ecosystems Management and Livelihoods” aims to help women make a living. In addition to protecting biological diversity.

The Himachal Pradesh Forest Department and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) are working together on this project.

As part of this project, women from more than seven of the districts in Himachal Pradesh are working together. They make a variety of household items and help improve the state’s forest ecosystem.
