Ayodhya City dedicates “Lata Mangeshkar Chowk”

On the 93rd birth anniversary of the late singer, the “Lata Mangeshkar Chowk” opens to the public in Ayodhya City. The intersection is constructed on the banks of the Saryu river. It is characterised by a ‘Veena’ that is 40 feet long, 12 metres high, and weighs 14 tonnes.
In addition to that, it has seven pillars that stand for the seven different musical notes. The 92 lotuses represent her 92 years on this planet.

- A veena that measures 12 metres in height, 40 feet in length, and weighs 14 tonnes is also installed at the intersection.
- The veena is named “Lata Smriti Chowk”.
- According to the officials, the veena is crafted by Padma Shri awardee Ram Sutar.
- A total of ninety-two lotuses crafted from white marble are placed in the body of water that surrounds the roundabout.
- The roundabout is located close to the Ram Ki Paidi ghat on the banks of the Saryu river.
- The 92 white marble lotuses that are located in the lake at the chowk complex are meant to represent the length of Lataji’s life.
