India launches a Twitter account for accurate COVID-19 updatesIndia has confirmed over 1500 COVID-19 cases up to now.

In order to ensure that people receive the correct information on the disease, the government has launched a separate Twitter account. One can follow on Twitter@CovidnewsbyMIB.

Search is on in different states for people who attended the religious meeting at Nizamuddin in Delhi. It had over 4000 attendees and has become a hotspot for the disease. Most cases in Jammu & Kashmir and Telangana are linked to people who attended this event.
 	More state governments, including Tripura, have announced rations for the poor for a month.
 	State Bank of India (SBI), ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank have started offering customers the option to postpone payment of loans as ordered by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
 	However, the interest rates on small saving schemes have been reduced.
 	More companies and organisations including Wipro Ltd, Infosys Foundation, Azim Premji Foundation and more have pledged donations to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
 	A 93-year-old man from Kerala has become the oldest Indian to recover from COVID-19.

What is the situation globally?

Globally, more than 8,60,000 cases have been confirmed worldwide.

The US, Italy and Spain now have the most number of cases worldwide.
 	The UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres says the COVID-19 pandemic is the "greatest test" the world has faced since the end of World War II.
 	China is now including asymptomatic cases in its official count starting Wednesday. Asymptomatic means patients who don't show any symptoms.
 	The UK is planning to convert a convention hall into the country's biggest intensive care unit (ICU) hospital. It will have 4000 beds.
