India win opening match at ICC Women’s T20 World Cup

India win opening match at ICC Women’s T20 World CupToday, the ICC Women's T20 World Cup started and India won the opening match against Australia.

India beat Australia by 17 runs.

Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first.
 	India scored 132 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs.
 	Australia could not chase the total and scored 115 runs in 19.5 overs, all out.
 	Australia's Alyssa Healy scored 51 runs while India's Deepti Sharma was India's highest scorer (49 runs).
 	India's Poonam Yadav won Player of the Match.

The match was played at Sydney Showground Stadium in Sydney.

The 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup

This is the 7th edition of the tournament. It is being held from 21 February to 8 March 2020 in 6 venues across Australia.
 	This is the first major ICC (International Cricket Council) tournament that features technology to monitor front-foot no-balls.
 	10 teams, divided into two groups are competing while Australia is the current defending champion.

There will be two matches tomorrow - West Indies versus Thailand, starting at 12:30 p.m. (IST) and New Zealand versus Sri Lanka at 4:30 p.m. (IST).
