Indian student aspires to clean 30 cities in 30 days!

A student who created a community for the purpose of picking up rubbish and has plans to travel throughout the United Kingdom. He intends on visiting 30 places in 30 days as part of an effort to combat climate change.
Vivek Gurav has been picking up trash and has amassed a total of 5,000 kilogrammes of garbage as a result of his efforts. He diligently participates in what is known as ‘plogging’.
What is Plogging?
Jogging while simultaneously picking up trash is an activity known as plogging.

- Mr Gurav is 26 years old and he aspires to create a plogging network across the UK.
- He also wishes to motivate others so that they might establish their own groups.
- Gurav is currently pursuing a master’s degree in environmental policy and management at the University of Bristol, United Kingdom.
- He initially began a community plogging effort in his hometown of Pune, India.
- Over the course of four years, he has participated in 120 such “plogging excursions.”
- In a span of four years, he has collected trash over 675 km.
- He has also received a special award from the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson.
- In addition, he was also invited to 10 Downing Street by the new prime minister, Rishi Sunak.
- He was also a speaker at COY17, which is the younger version of the COP27 climate summit.
- Gurav believes that mental health is a “key part” of the plogging community.
- He also has high hopes that the community initiative will have a “good influence” on mental health.
