International Travel Map – Iquitos, PeruIquitos is the largest jungle town in Peru, South America. It is also known as 'City of Iquitos.'

It is located in the Amazon basin at the meeting point of the Nanay and Itaya rivers.
 	Iquitos is surrounded by water on one side and the thick Amazon rainforest on the other side.
 	It is the world's largest city to which you cannot travel to, by road! You can get there only by flight or boat.

The city is famous for its nature as well as diverse food and culture.
 	You can visit the open-air street market and its floating houses on the water.

You can sit on its beautiful beaches or walk through the paths of its wildlife sanctuary and see the famous Pink Amazon river dolphin.
 	At the riverside, you can see wildlife such as monkeys, alligators, snakes, etc as well as many exotic plants.

The weather usually remains hot and humid round the year.
 	The best time to visit the place is in the month of July and August.

This city also has many historical buildings which reflect its mixed cultures. It is also home to the Amazon Library, one of the two most important in Latin America.
