ISRO’s first solar mission!ISRO's  getting ready to launch their very first solar mission named Aditya-L1! The mission will happen between June and July of 2023. Exciting times ahead!

Did you know that Aditya-L1 has a superpower? That's right, because it's orbiting in LI (which stands for Lagrangian point 1), it can always keep its eyes on the Sun, no matter what! LI is like the perfect spot for Aditya-L1 to park itself and get the best view in the solar system.
And speaking of eyes on the Sun, the VELC tool is going to be a real superstar in this mission. It's going to be able to keep a constant watch on the Sun's outermost layer, which is called the corona.
Why is that important, you may ask? Well, ISRO's scientists have some big questions about the Sun that they're hoping the VELC can help answer.

Are you ready to learn about the Sun and its effects on our planet? Today, we're going to talk about a mission called Aditya-L1, which is all about understanding how the Sun affects the Earth and everything around it.
The mission of Aditya-L1 is to use a special tool called the Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) to take pictures of the Sun's outermost layer. That's right, we're going to take some selfies with the Sun! But why, you may ask? Well, scientists want to learn more about how the Sun's activity affects things like the Earth's climate, communication systems, and even power grids.
Now, here's the really cool part: ISRO's taken fifteen whole years to make the VELC! That's longer than some of you have been alive! It's amazing to think about all the hard work and dedication that went into creating this tool.
But the VELC isn't the only thing going up to space as part of the Aditya-L1 mission. There will be seven shipments in total, all going up on the same spacecraft. And before they send it up, the VELC system will be thoroughly tested by ISRO scientists to make sure everything is working perfectly.
Once the VELC is all set and ready to go, it will be sent to a Satellite Centre in Bengaluru, where it will be joined to the Aditya-L1 satellite. This satellite will then be tested and evaluated to make sure everything is working smoothly before it's sent on its mission to study the Sun.
So there you have it, my young science enthusiasts! Aditya-L1 is all about learning more about the Sun and how it affects our planet. And with the help of the VELC and some super-smart scientists, ISRO's one step closer to understanding the mysteries of our nearest star. Keep exploring and asking questions!
