Leading by example – Bhagat SinghBhagat Singh was a revolutionary* Indian freedom fighter who fought against the British empire.

His courageous actions inspired the youth of India and brought great change in Indian people's thinking.

Bhagat Singh was born in 1907 into a Sikh family in present-day Pakistan.
 	His family members were actively involved in the independence movement. Very soon, he too became a part of the freedom struggle.

Thus, Bhagat Singh grew up to be a leader whose heart brimmed with love for India.
 	When he was a teenager, he also studied European revolutionary movements which inspired him.
 	Bhagat Singh coined a powerful slogan 'Inquilab Zindabad' which became the slogan of India's armed struggle.
 	When the British jailed him, he fasted for 63 days demanding equal rights for Indian political prisoners.
 	The British sentenced him to death in 1931, due to his actions, in response to the death of veteran freedom fighter Lala Lajpat Rai.

His unselfish life of daring and fearlessness inspires us to this day.
