Scientists, led by the renowned astronomer Mitsunori Ozaki of Kanazawa University, along with a dedicated team from Japan and France, unveiled the mystery. Amidst the silent void, they heard the unexpected – a symphony of ‘singing’ plasma waves, chorus waves, akin to the melodious chirping of birds.

The Mercury BepiColombo mission worked hard and found out new things about Mercury, a planet. This mission started in 2018. It has a special tool called MIO to learn about Mercury’s magnetic field. Even though it’s not yet circling the planet, it has passed by Mercury in 2021 and 2022. We are already learning new and exciting things about the planet’s magnetic field because of this.

Mercury, though stripped of a potent magnetic field and atmosphere, holds secrets.
