The Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament was held this year in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from 19 September to 10 November.
Yesterday, the final match was between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. It was held at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai, UAE.
Mumbai Indians won the match, becoming IPL champions for a record fifth time. Mumbai Indians won the match by five wickets. They were last year’s champions as well.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 156 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma’s 68 runs helped his team chase the total and win the match.
Trent Boult of Mumbai Indians was declared the Player of the Match. The Player of the Tournament went to Rajasthan Royal’s Jofra Archer.
This year, for the first time ever, a women’s IPL or Women’s T20 Challenge was also held at the same time. It was won by the team Trailblazers. They beat the Supernovas by 16 runs in the final game of the tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, UAE.
