New Zealand win first test over India, lead series 1-0

New Zealand win first test over India, lead series 1-0After winning the ODI series, New Zealand have now won the first test match over India. They lead the 2-test series by 1-0.

New Zealand won by 10 wickets.

The match started on 21 February and was scheduled to go on till 25 February.
 	New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first.
 	In the first innings, India scored a poor 165 runs while New Zealand scored 348.
 	In the second innings, India were all out for 191 in 81 overs in their second innings, which New Zealand could easily chase.
 	The Player of the Match was New Zealand's Tim Southee.

This test series is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2019-2021. However, despite the loss, India are still on top of the ICC World Test Championship table with 360 points, while New Zealand have 120 points.

This was also New Zealand's 100th test win. The match was played at the Basin Reserve in Wellington, New Zealand.

The second test of the series will be played from 29 February to 4 March.
