PM Modi to participate in G20 Extraordinary Leaders’ Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to participate in the G20 Extraordinary Leaders’ Summit on Afghanistan today.
The summit is being organised by the G20 Italian Presidency and is scheduled to take place at around 4 pm.
What is G20?
The G20 (or Group of Twenty) is an intergovernmental forum comprising 19 countries and the European Union (EU). The members of the G20 are: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union.
G20 Extraordinary Leaders’ Summit
The topics of the meeting will include different topics related to Afghanistan – humanitarian needs, security, human rights and the fight against terrorism. This meeting is organised by the current president of the G20 – Italy (represented by Mario Draghi, the Italian PM)
PM Modi will attend the meeting virtually. And the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank and United Nations (UN) will also participate in the upcoming meeting.
