Ramakrishna Jayanti!

Recommended for Important Days

Ramakrishna Jayanti is celebrated with great joy and ecstasy in India and the United States on 4 March. In addition, the birthday of this great guru is a religious event that is celebrated all over the country.

One of the best-known Hindu saints of all time is Ramakrishna Paramhansa. He simplified complicated spiritual teachings into simple language that anyone could understand.

History of Swami Ramakrishna

Gadadhar Chattopadhyay, better known as Ramakrishna, was born on February 18, 1836, in the city of Kolkata. He came from a poor and religious Brahmin family in the village of Kamarpukur in West Bengal.

One of his famous students, Swami Vivekananda, started the Ramakrishna mission, which helps people grow spiritually and improve their lives. A place called Belur Math is where the Ramakrishna Math and mission are based.

Love and Devotion

In Ramkrishna’s case, the love and respect he had for his goddess led him to become aware. People in the Dakshineswar temple where he was a priest called him Goddess Kali.

He talked about the different religious paths that lead to a single path, which is to know God. He was a member of the higher traditional caste, but he ate food made by the people who were considered to be below his caste.

This festival isn’t just for Hindus. People from other religions and people who aren’t Indian also come to pay their respects to the great saint at this time of the year.
