Recently, someone paid a lot of money for an unopened copy of the video game Super Mario 64 - US$1.5 million. This makes it the most expensive video game of all time. It also broke the record that another video game, The Legend of Zelda, set just two days before.

Nintendo launched this video game in 1996 and only about 5 copies of the game (in such good condition) exists today.

Super Mario 64 was the best-selling game for the Nintendo 64 playing system. It is the first game that saw the change of the Mario video game from 2D to 3D. Moreover, despite being so old, many people consider it to be one of the best video games ever made.

Today, many people pay a lot of money for old but famous video games. They do this not to play them but to collect and keep them on display as they are rare items.
