Satellite captures image of New Zealand’s volcanic eruptionWe have read about the recent eruption of a volcano in New Zealand.

An image released by Maxar Technologies captures the eruption. It is a high-resolution image taken by an unspecified satellite from space (see the image below).

The satellite will continue to monitor the volcanic activity on While Island.
 	Experts say that the volcano had been showing some activity before the eruption. But visitors had been allowed and they got caught in the eruption.
 	For a while, authorities could not go to the island to rescue the people stranded there as it was too dangerous. But rescue efforts still continue to be underway, despite the high risk.
 	Authorities are slowly identifying the people who were caught in the disasters.
 	Experts have warned that the risk of eruption still remains.

On Monday, the people of New Zealand observed a minute's silence at 14:11 local time to mark one week since the eruption.
