South Korean film Parasite makes history at Oscars 2020

South Korean film Parasite makes history at Oscars 2020On Sunday night, South Korean film Parasite made history at the 92nd Academy Awards (Oscar Awards).

It became the first-ever non-English language film to win best picture.

Parasite's director Bong Joon-ho also won the Oscar for best director.
 	Overall, Parasite won 4 awards including best original screenplay.

Who were some of the other winners?

1917 also picked up three awards including best cinematography.
 	Favourites Joaquin Phoenix and Renee Zellweger won best actor and actress respectively.
 	Brad Pitt and Laura Stern also won best supporting actor and actress respectively.
 	Sir Elton John and Bernie Taupin won best original song for the song (I'm Gonna) Love Me Again from the film Rocketman.
 	Hildur Gudnadottir became the first female winner of best original score (music) since 1998 for Joker.
 	Toy Story 4 won best animated feature.

The ceremony was held at at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, US.
