Sports: It’s India versus New Zealand at the WTC final

Sports: It’s India versus New Zealand at the WTC finalAt the top of the sports news today, India and New Zealand are playing in the first-ever final of the World Test Championship (WTC).

This cricket championship featured nine of the twelve Test-playing nations of the world. Over two years, since 2019, each of them played a Test series against six of the other eight teams. Each team was able to score a maximum of 120 points from each series.

The two teams with the most points at the end of the league stage would meet the final. So, this turned out to be India and New Zealand.

Starting from today, they were supposed to play the final test match at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, UK. However, since it rained, it hasn't started.
Football
At Euro 2020, a number of teams are through to the round of 16. They include Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands.

At Copa America, teams are still playing in the group stage. Brazil has won both of its opening matches. It is the only team to do so till now. Argentina also is set to play early tomorrow morning (for India).
Tennis
Both Naomi Osaka and Rafael Nadal have withdrawn from playing the Wimbledon tournament. This tennis tournament will start on 28 June and go on till 11 July 2021. Nadal will also miss the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.
