Stars ‘fling’ comets into our solar systemCan you imagine stars 'flinging' (throwing) comets into our solar system? Well, scientists have found that distant stars have flung 2 comets off their locations into our solar system.

Researches believed that stars had the potential to fling or throw objects from the Oort Cloud.
 	The Oort Cloud is at the edge of our solar system found beyond the orbit of Neptune and 9.23 trillion miles away from the Sun.
 	Icy objects, including comets, are found within the Oort Cloud. These objects are so far away from the Sun, that it takes them up to 2500 years to complete one orbit around the Sun.
 	A research by Polish scientists recently found that stars that came within 12 light-years of the Oort Cloud could fling off the icy objects and comets out of their position and send them through the solar system.
 	The astronomers studied more than 600 stars that came within a distance of 13 light-years of the Sun. They studied these stars in comparison with the orbits of more than 250 comets and created a model of star-comet pairs to study this theory.

According to the findings, only 2 comets had been thrown off their paths by stars. Yet we do observe many comets within our solar system. This means that there must be more studies that need to be done to understand the way our universe works.

However, the experiment proves that our solar system does get influenced by other stellar objects or stars.
